Tadanori Yokoo @MOT

Tadanori Yokoo is one of my favorite artists for long time. His view of the real society makes my eyes open.

I’ve just have chanced to visit MOT, Museum contemporary art of Tokyo, Kiyosumi Tokyo where a curative exhibition of Tadanori Yokoo was going on.

So, just would like leave the impression memorandum about Tadao Yokoo artworks here.

Actually, MOT had the big exhibition of David Hockney at that time. There was a long line for both buying tickets and entering the hall.

I didn’t want a chaos so went to a regular exhibition hall where you got Tadanori Yokoo collection called “Membrane of the Time” and “Ever Changing, Like Water”. Japanese info is here.「被膜虚実 特集展示 横尾忠則―水のように

This collection exhibition has not only Tadanori Yokoo works, but many works of the artists who were inspired by him, and vise versa.

Two works I was impressed.

Art meets science, PixCell, Kohei Nawa

First, the famous PixCell series of Kohei Nawa‘s work.

I luckily enough to see the “PixCell-Deer #17” (the below photo)

The PixCell series makes us think what the real world is. Like long time discussion about the existence and recognition..

Things exist because we recognize or things exist no matter we recognize or not… The quantum mechanics has revealed those questions and that is like science meets philosophy.

Kohei Nawa’s PixCell series show us how the Art meets science.

Y Junction Tadanori Yokoo

The next one is “Y Junction” from Tadanori Yokoo. (cover photo)

This series inspired me enough to turn into taking photo of Y Junction every time I come across.

I didn’t realize or notice the Y Junction till I know this artwork. So much inspired and feel the power of art.
